· Speech and Drama, Festival of Performance Snippets

The first eisteddfod was held in August - September 1985 in the Penrith Music Centre, next to the original Penrith Library in Henry Street. The choral was held at Jamison High School and the prize winners concert in the Lewers Gallery. Further sections for participation were Organ, Piano, Vocal, Speech and Drama, Dance and Instrumental categories.
The patrons were Mayor Brian King and Ross Free MP.

The official accompanist was Phyllis Huthnance - the current vice-president.
The City of Penrith Eisteddfod Society has been going strong from 1985 until today.
